Idaho Home Inspectors
Here in Idaho, there are no current regulations on the home inspection industry. Basically, anyone with a business card can be a home inspector! This is why it is so important to do your homework before hiring someone to look over your valuable investment. How long have they been doing inspections....? What is their specific background (plumbing, electrical, building, etc)? Ask for testimonials and references to call! *Very important. Randy Funk Home Inspections has an A+ rating here in Boise and many references to call on. My reports are very thorough and detailed with lots of photos and recommendations on what/how to fix things that are found. Happy home hunting!! www.homeinspectorboise.com

How to hire the right home inspector.
First of all, thanks for visiting my website and blog. You have come to the right place for your home inspection needs. I am regularly featured on 670 KBOI as Boise's Expert Home Inspector answering the tough questions from listeners! I have been in the industry for over 12 years inspecting homes in Hawaii, California and Idaho.
When searching for the right home inspector for your big purchase, I strongly advise calling around and speaking with different inspectors. This will give you the chance to pick the right inspector and get a feel for the inspector that you are going to hire and work with. Real Estate agents commonly refer inspectors and these should weigh into your decision as your realtor works with these guys on a regular basis and has a pretty good idea who does a great job and who does not. Inspectors in Idaho come from all different backgrounds as there is no regulation on the industry yet. I strongly recommend asking your inspector about his/her background prior to hiring. Be cautious of the inspector who quotes you prices that are much lower than the other companies. Typically, reputable inspectors will be within $25 to $50 of each other. So, if you have 3 inspectors with similar pricing, who do you hire?? This is when you ask about their services. What exactly do they offer.....? Written reports versus computer generated ones, how long does it take them to get you your report, do they have references, how long does it take them to do the actual job, etc. These are some questions you can start with. Feel free to contact me anytime with questions. You can reach me directly at 208-914-5793 or via email to randy@homeinspectorboise.com
Good luck.
